I have noticed that some resorts charge additional fees to the listed prices. Does Five Star Cabins do this?

No. We do not charge any type of cleaning fees, insurance fees or resort fees. We charge a base rate which is priced for a two night minimum.  Local taxes are added at the rate of 9.25%. Additional fees apply if number of persons exceed base rate. Any packages ordered is additional which include pet fee, firewood, champagne on arrival, anniversary or birthday cakes, veggie trays, fruit trays, Five Star Cabins robes & 5 Star can koozies.

Where Are Your Cabins Located?

Our cabins are located 6 miles north of Broken Bow.From Broken Bow go 6 miles to the 1st 259A main entrance into Beavers Bend Resort Park. Turn right (east) on 259A (across from Hochatown Country Lodge & Adam & Eve’s Convenience Store), go 1.2 mi. (at end of straight stretch), to Southern Hills sign on right. Turn right into Southern Hills. Cabins are located in Southern Hills.

What Are Your Office Hours?

Our hours are from 7am to 7pm, 7 days a week. Sometimes we are in an area not receiving good cell phone reception, so leave a voice mail & your call will be returned as soon as possible. If calling after hours, also leave a voice mail & your call will be returned during office hours.

If you have a problem while at a cabin after hours, leave a voice mail. If it is an emergency after hours, your call will be returned promptly. If it is not an emergency, your call will be returned during office hours.

Cabins may be reserved online 24 hours a day, or you may reserve by calling 580-236-3148 during office hours.

Are Your Cabins on the Lake or River?

Broken Bow Lake and Mountain Fork River are on property owned by the US. Government and controlled by the U.S. Army Corp. of Engineers. There are no private owned cabins on the lake or directly below the lake on Mountain Fork River. We are 2 miles from the entrance to Beavers Bend Resort Park & 3 1/2 miles from dam of Broken Bow Lake. If launching boat, we are 5 miles from Broken Bow Lake Marina.

 

What Is There To Do While In the Area?

The area offers many activities. We are located only minutes away from Beavers Bend State Park, Broken Bow Lake and the Ouachita National Forest. To see a list of activities visit our website home page tab of area attractions and also visit the McCurtain County Tourism Authority web site.

 

What Do We Need To Bring?

Our cabins come fully furnished. The only thing you need to bring is food, clothes and personal hygiene items. We provide fully furnished kitchens, including cooking utensils, pots, pans, plates, glasses, either charcoal, towels and linens. You may want to bring fire logs for help starting an outside fire at cabins with outside fire rings. Also additional items to bring are flash lights ( in case of power outage), bug spray (watch out for chiggers if walking in woods or grass), 1st aid kit, charcoal & lighter fluid.

 

What Are the Cost to Rent a Cabin?

Cabin rental cost vary by size and seasonality. See reservations for more detailed information on cost. We do not charge additional reservation fees or cleaning fees to standard pricing for 2 or more night reservations.

Deposits are $50 per night, nonrefundable. If having to cancel, your deposit can be applied to future reservation, if coming in by 30 days of original reservation.

Remaining balance will be charged 7 days before arrival (or Fri before if arriving on Sat or Sun). This is minus the deposit which is added as credit to outstanding balance.

 

Are 1 Night Stays Available?

Occasionally we have one night stays available if it is not in the busy season. We do not have 1 night stays available for Belle Star or Crimson Star. A one night stay will incur an additional $20 to $25 cost, depending on which cabin.  Call us at 580-236-3148 to reserve for 1 night. One night stays can not be booked online, they are blocked.

 

Can We Check In Early?

Yes, 12 noon or after, if cabin is not rented night before. If rented night before, check in is between 3pm to 5pm, as soon as we have cabin cleaned & ready. We will text you when cabin is ready.

What Time is Check-Out?

Check out is no later than 11:00 A.M.

 

What is the Driving Distance to Broken Bow?

  • 190 miles from downtown Dallas, TX (3-3.5 hours driving time)
  • 250 miles from downtown Oklahoma City, OK (4 hours driving time)
  • 200 miles from downtown Tulsa, OK (3.5 hours driving time)
  • 150 miles from downtown Shreveport, LA ( 3 hour drive)
  • 145 miles from downtown Tyler, TX (3 hour drive)
  • 130 miles from downtown Longview, TX ( 2.5 hour drive)

Are There Physical Addresses for the Cabins?

NO. There are no physical addresses for the cabins in the area. We are currently undergoing a 911 mapping process but it is not available yet. DO NOT USE GPS TO FIND YOUR CABINS, IT WILL NOT WORK. PLEASE PRINT AND BRING DIRECTIONS WITH YOU. Go to directions at top of home page of website to get directions. Print this before  you arrive in area due to poor cell phone service in areas. The email with balance will provide you door code  Please write down door code before arriving.  Do not rely on local cell phone providers to download your emails to your electronic devises once you are in the area.

How Do We Check In?

There is no central check in facility. Just bring your directions and use the key cods to access key box or the doors directly. When you leave please put the key back into the key box . Do NOT leave cabin unlocked on departure.

 Left a personal item at the cabin. Can you mail it to me?

There is a minimum $25.00 charge to mail items to you. It takes time to retrieve the item, then drive to Broken Bow post office & mail to you.

Can we play music outdoors?

Only if it is not loud until 11pm. Quiet hours start at 11pm so other guests in cabins are not disturbed.

May we bring RV’s  & TENTS?

It is prohibited on all of our cabin properties due to the deed restrictions.

May we SHOOT GUNS or SET OFF FIREWORKS?

Shooting guns are dangerous with other cabins close by. Fireworks are a fire hazard. It is strictly prohibited on cabin property.

Can the other cabins use the swimming pool at the lodge?

Sorry, but definitely no. Morning Star & Evening Star are the 2 adult rentals at the lodge. It is not fair to them for other guests to come to the lodge & disturb them.
